There are many of approaches to teaching martial arts. Some schools are VERY STRICT and traditional. You cannot talk in class. You never approach your instructor. Instead you ask one of the assistants or other students if you have questions. The head instructor is not only unapproachable, but if you make a mistake, they have some very interesting ways of making you know it. None of which make you feel very good!

Then there are the non-traditional schools. Kind of like a playground with martial arts customes. Not much in the way of respect or tradition. They teach few of the traditional forms, drills or concepts developed by the ancient masters. Some of them are more like a fitness club or daycare center, no one knows if you were there or not, a total absence of tradition, discipline and decorum.

We believe that the best learning environment and program is somewhere between these extremes. At USMAA, we do believe in and follow a certain amount of the Eastern tradition. Not in a religious sense at all, but we do bow to one another to show respect and courtesy. All students are taught at their own paces and are expected to put forth 110% effort. USMAA classes are full of students smiling, sweating and learning. Our instructors are always positive, friendly and approachable. At the same time we maintain a disciplined environment to help students learn. Throughout the course of study at the US Martial Arts Academy, students will develop: self-confidence, respect for self and others, improved focus, self-control, goal setting, verbal and non-verbal self defense, leadership ability and many other very important life skills!

We are a BLACK BELT school! It is our goal to support and guide you and/or your children to Black Belt and beyond.

The classes at the US Martial Arts Academy are structured to be fun and exciting as well as informative and physically challenging. Through a variety of martial art systems, our instructors' teaching styles, and creative training methods, we keep our students interested, motivated and advancing towards the ultimate goal of a martial artist - Black Belt!
